I think it better to just kill the domterm process when it misbehaves
(rather than killing the socket):
I do:
   ps aux|grep domterm
and kill the offending process(es).

It is also possibly to start domterm with
the --no-daemonize option.  That make the domterm "server"
run in the foreground, so you can kill it kill ctrl-C (at least on Unix/Linux).l
